Business Opportunity: The client needed a customer-facing, web-based system to allow purchasers of their products to submit registration and warranty information over the web. In addition to addressing the scale of potential customers who would use this application, the client required the solution to be internationalized in order to service customers in the US, China, Russia, Japan, and other nations.
Results: ALTERthought worked with the client and a leading application server vendor to conceive and deliver a robust, stable product on time and on budget. ALTERthought navigated a number of technical challenges including sophisticated CORBA integration to address validation and product information services, the integration of BroadVision ® portal feeds, and a number of third party connections. Despite technical and process challenges, the solution has measurably enhanced warranty registration and management.
